About JCPIT Support

Australian-owned cybersecurity for small business

Our story

JCPIT Support began in 2010 as a local IT support business, drawing on industry experience dating back to 2004. Today, we specialise in cybersecurity for small and medium businesses across Australia.

Based in Croydon, Victoria, we help Australian small businesses protect their systems, data and people. We explain the risks clearly and put security in place that suits how each business works.

How we work

Cybersecurity is our core focus. Our experience with viruses, ransomware, phishing and identity theft informs how we protect each business.

We use technology from Huntress, Check Point, Microsoft, ThreatLocker, DefensX and Cove. Huntress provides our managed detection and response platform, and we manage Check Point email security directly. We bring these services together for small businesses.

We explain what is happening, what it means for your business and why we recommend a particular action. Our reports use plain English.

We manage your security day to day, monitor threats and respond to problems. If something goes wrong, we take ownership of the response and work to get your business running again.

The people behind JCPIT

Jake Paternoster, Founder and Managing Director of JCPIT Support

Jake Paternoster

Founder & Managing Director

Jake started his IT career in 2004, working in technical roles at GPK Computers and Screwloose before founding JCPIT Support in 2010. He holds a Network Engineering qualification from Swinburne University of Technology and has over two decades of experience in IT infrastructure, networking and cybersecurity.

During that time, he has watched online threats grow from basic viruses to ransomware and phishing campaigns. He built JCPIT Support to make cybersecurity manageable for small businesses, with advice they can understand and act on.

Based in Croydon, Victoria, Jake works directly with every client. He learns how their business operates, assesses the risks and puts the right protection in place.

Outside work, Jake plays basketball, hikes, camps and explores Victoria's 4WD tracks. He's a member of the Pajero Club.

Kelly Thomas, Financial Accountant at JCPIT Support

Kelly Thomas

Financial Accountant

Kelly manages JCPIT Support's accounts, invoicing and financial operations. She is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business.

She has worked in construction, events and electrical services. That experience helps her explain financial information clearly and keep JCPIT Support's billing straightforward.

Outside work, Kelly enjoys trail running, mountain hikes and exploring remote tracks in her 4WD. Like Jake, she's a member of the Pajero Club.
